Austin, Texas was recently announced as the official location for the Formula 1 race to be held in the United States. This event will be hosted by the State of Texas, the Circuit of the Americans staff and by the famed Bernie Ecclestone. It promises to be one of the prominent events that is held in the US next year.
After the announcement that the race will be held in Austin, the construction companies involved have had to make a start and begin creating the course and arena that will be needed to host this spectacular event. The track was contracted for a ten year period in which undoubtedly many amazing races will be had.
The course will have to be specialised, much like the ones featured in New Delhi and other hot climates. To achieve this, the constructers use methods and techniques that insure the drivers can safely race in the high heats.
The Austin course will have as its token a 5.5 km track (3.4 mile) and will also include a medical facility, 114 exclusive sets of suites, a conference centre and banquet hall, and expansive grounds. This will be a massive project for the companies that take it on and, as it needs to be ready in less than a year, let’s hope that they don’t have to rush it.
This massive event promises to open a whole new set of possibilities for the F1 racing world. A new element in the racing world will be added with the advent of this amazing track and, in a sport that is popular around the world but less so North America, it may open the citizens’ eyes to F1.
The course will be open to the FIA and F1 racing world in the next 12 months. In the meantime, prepare for some amazing new F1 feats and continue enjoying the current races.
