Snow Mobile is an annual event where members of the F1 community, ski legends, other motoring giants and celebrities get involved in fun snow-based games. The 2011 leg was an immensely important event in the world of Formula 1, and not all for the right reasons.
Since its creation, this annual sporting event has provided incredibly active and diverse entertainment, without any real overriding champion, and with a harsh and grinding realistic element to it. The Snow Mobile 2011, hosted in Saalbach Hinterglemm, Austria, proved to be no less entertaining and enthralling than previous years
Among the members favoured to win this event were the famed Christian Klien, Sakon Yamamoto, Patrick Priesacher, and Keke Rosemberg. Many of these participants are, in all reality, more accustomed to the 4 wheel system as opposed to the snow plough, but with the training presented to them they mastered the courses superbly. These motoring masters surprised all with their unfailing talent to face whatever challenges they come across, and continue to prove the veracity of the training given by the F1 community.
An amazing twist to this race came when Kimi Raikkonen fell off his snowmobile. With the speeds that the competitors were performing at, there was such a high risk of serious injury, but thankfully he came out with nothing more than a badly sprained wrist. Doctors said that the Finn would be able to return to the racing world shortly as the damage was not long term in any way.
The race came and went and was considered successfully and enjoyable tournament, even with Raikkonen sitting it out on the sidelines. It was a real thrill and continues to provide hours of conversation for those interested in and involved in the Formula 1 racing world. The 49 laps of power showed the amazing might of international drivers, and it will continue to be one of the most watched international events.
